Happy Birthday to Me. fresh Lip Shine- Belle.

Every year, my birthday is a BFD to me! And my 2 things I try and accomplish are 1. cake-eating and 2. Lip gloss buying. I don't treat myself to a new gloss all willy nilly-- it's usually only when I need it or when I am trying to treat myself in a low-calorie (read: non-cake) way.

This year, the gloss I chose was the Lip Shine by fresh called Belle ($20). I chose this because it is a very comforting winter gloss. It has lots of slip, and even though I need to re-apply often, I like the comforting way the jojoba and shea butter formula makes winter lips feel. I don't know how deep the moisturizing penetration goes because I end up re-applying quite often, but it is pretty lovely in that your hair does not stick to it. Plus, there's no smell, so it's not really offensive to anyone (if you remember, one of my pet peeves with the Big Buxom Lips by Bare Escentuals was the nauseating toffee smell).

The color I chose is pink and purrrrrty. It's very close to T. LeClerc's Grenadine gloss (still my #1 A+ most favorite-y fave) -- but Belle is just pink enough to perk up my pale winter puss without looking like I am wearing a ton of lip stuff. It's VERY shiny-- which I love-- but it's also a very young and sweet color.

A very satisfying purchase. By the way, this gloss is very different from the other fresh lipglosses in the SUGAR series. In fact, the taste to the consistency all vary a great deal. I have (and really really like) the SUGAR glosses (which taste and smell a lot like a sugary lemon). Anyway don't get them confused. Same brand, similar price, but surprisingly different products.

Anyway now I have pinky, pretty, shiny, (but not pouty) lips. If someone (a boy) would just kiss me already! Wait-- there's all types of caveats to that. I mean, he needs to be tall, straight, smellin' good and talkin' right--- it's too complicated I am not going to get into it. Yeah, I need a soldier.

Peace out!
(and Kisses!)

  1. I love fresh lip gloss. A good friend gave me a stick for Christmas and it has nearly run out. I can't stop using it. It is like the crack of lip glosses. It makes my lips look cherubic red. Lip glosses I have used in the past have made my lips look I have a smear of vaseline as a coating and on top of that, they have dried out my lips. The result being this oh so unattractive flakey layer of skin on my ever so sore lips. This is not the case with Fresh. Thanks to the jojoba oil, it moisturises your lips and makes you look fabulous. For shiny, healthy lips, use Fresh!
