Lovely Lavender Lids. Bobbi Brown #21 Lavender Eyeshadow

S's note: This product comes as a cake, not as loose powder! This picture was chosen for color.

Don't be shy about getting some pastels and colors up on your peepers. I have been in the market for a cool pastel shade and finally found one today from the Bobbi Brown's Metallic Eye Shadow collection, Lavender 21, $21.
At first, it may seem a little out of the ordinary to incorporate  lilac hued lids into an everyday wardrobe, but this shadow, with it's subtle shimmer and finely milled pigments is the perfect pick-me-up for your everyday cold to tolerable weather transition wardrobe.
Sweeping this shadow on directly over the lid and Shazaaaam! Just like that you've become a cool chick with cool high fashion taste.
Lavender is a great color because it really works well for all skin tones. The pastels make it fun and retro-mod (very in style). Dusky dames to Rosy faces will see that lavender is such a fun     and experimental tone which works for work and is also fun in the evening. The cake itself is a reserved shimmer-- it doesn't over emphasize those crepe-y lids which shimmers normally do.

This color is also a great staple in case you ever consider stepping it up with a smokey eye-- lilacs and lavenders serve as a great base!

The application with a brush comes up sheer to light, while working it on with the fingers gives light to medium color. I put it on with my fingers, and I feel just perfectly purple. For my evening look, I plan to sweep on a thin line of smoky eggplant shadow to give me a perceptibly purple look. 2 coats of mascara and my boring black and white dress is hopefully going to be a little less blah.

I love Bobbi Brown shadows, because there's a very slim chance you'll mess them up. Even with this lavender color, it's going to take a ham fisted cow to mess it up. What? Cows are cute.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly:
The Good: Excellent, stylish, fun color, great subtle shimmer, easy to use, exciting way to simply spice up your makeup routine, works for ALL skin tones.
The Bad: $21, doesn't come with a brush for that price.
The Ugly: Can't really think of any.

S's recommendation: If you want to make it hot, try a cool lilac shade. This Bobbi Brown formulation is excellent because it stays on, has just the right amount of color, subtle shimmer and makes you look pretty.

Coquettish Kisses!
S.
