Jo Malone Vitamin E Gel

As some of you may know, my sister and I were involved in a horrendous tour bus accident in Rio Di Janiero, Brazil. Luckily, both of us were in the back of the bus and had very minor injuries. One of my mini injuries included a cut on my left shin. I have the most horrendous scab from this cut. Ewwww. How disgusting is the word scab... almost as disgusting as the word moist (which S hates very much). Luckily it's winter and no one can see it. E saw it the other day, and was shocked!!!

So the other day I was in the Jo Malone on Broadway and 22nd. I had a long conversation with the facialist about potions, lotions and sprays. I told her about my horrendous scar and she suggested I try the Vitamin E Gel. The tub retails for around $90. Yikes!!! Luckily she gave me a sample tub. She told me that she used the gel on the burn marks she had on her right hand from a cooking accident. After rubbing the gel on the scars she saw dramatic results after a few weeks!

I've been using the gel for about two weeks now, and have yet to see dramatic results. I admit the gel is quite soothing and moisturizing, but the scar still looks the same! Ok, i'm about to tell you something really disgusting... so those who are ickified (my own word) easily... do not read what is next. So, last night my scab fell off. Ewwwww!!! I woke up this morning and thought it was a dream, but it really wasn't. I'm not sure if it was the gel or if it was just my body's natural way of healing. Currently my scar is very noticeable and pink. Anyways, I will continue to use the gel and keep you updated.

In my personal opinion, I think any Vitamin E gel will help heal minor scars. You can get those vitamin E capsules at any drug store for around $9 a bottle. So, I will continue using the Jo Malone Vitamin E Gel sample till it runs out, which will probably be in a week and a half. I'll let you know!

Hugs,
G

  1. I know it's risky to advise an expert, but I would suggest using straight Neosporin until the scabbing is gone and the cut is healed. Then once it's healed and no longer a wound/scab anymore the vitamin E creams should help with the cosmetic aspects and hopefully prevent a scar.

  2. G and I love Neosporin! I use it on all my cuts and oops! also when i pick a zit. It does help with the healing... but can leave scars as well. Thanks for the advice.
