Jo Malone Bath Oils : Scent Secrets of S
How many times have I waxed on and on about smelling good? Well recently I've been criticized for over-perfuming by people who I care about (G included!). It's especially bad when someone of the opposite sex comments on my copious scentification -- so I looked for ways to tone it down, while keeping myself happy with the Eau d' S.
Being the Recessionista I would like to be, I rummaged through some stuff I already had instead of going out and spending more. Then finally, yesterday while in the shower at my parents' house, I saw it! My bottles of Jo Malone Bath Oil which I used to slather on during shower-time when I lived in gay old L.A.-- but left behind in the move to Manhattan (because, at the time of this move, I didn't even know if I would have space in my new cramped showering quarters).
I wondered-- would it be possible to use this oil post-shower as a moisturizer (because I love oils in this dry season)-- instead of in-shower. I patted on 2 pumps all over after-showering. Wouldn't you know! Not only did my skin look soft and young, but I smelled a dream! In the most subtle way possible. I even got complimented by someone who had to come close to me (ok fine, lest you think it was a paramour, it was the girl at the cosmetics counter while I was trying to buy some new foundation. But still!)
I put on a lovely Blue Agave and Cacoa scent which is $60 for a pretty substantially-sized bottle. I also have the Red Roses scent, which is what I am going to dab on later today. These oils are a luxurious indulgence, but completely worth it. I am going to bring them back to New York with me in the new year, praying that they don't leak in my luggage.
A quick word about Jo Malone's fragrances: I love them, they are simple, straightforward and intense in the oil-form. I have almost all of the ones I like, and I was literally obsessed with them at one point in time (I had like a SHRINE to these products in my bathroom-- complete with soaps, candles, face washes, atomizers, and bath oils.) Putting the oils on has sort of re-ignited my passion-- but I don't think I will be taking it as far as I did last time. Product psychosis! When I love something, I love it with all my heart.
Anyway in the winter months, you can get your sexy skin on and your scent on with these bath oils post shower -- by using them as a scent. It isn't greasy per se, but it does leave my clothes smelling of the scent-- so I am sure there is some residual deposit. I don't mind! I love my clothes smelling nice.
Fragrant Kisses!
S.
