Caudalie Beauty Elixir

G reporting from San Paolo, Brazil:

I have always been fascinated with elixirs. Remember reading about them in fairy tales and romantic novels? The elixir of life… how romantic! I imagine some beautiful damsel in distress passed out in a gorgeous castle or out in some field of full of flowers, while she waits for her tall handsome prince to show up with an elixir to bring her back to life…

A few weeks ago I was perusing the aisles of Sephora, searching for some magical potion to keep my face looking fresh, bright and healthy while traveling around Brazil. On past trips to hot, tropical, humid countries, I always kept a stash of Evian Mineral Water Spray. This spray is great for cooling yourself down while on a long tour or while lying around at the beach. The only problem with the spray is that it really does not moisturize your skin at all. You keep spraying it over and over again for a couple of seconds for that Cooling effect. At the end of the day, you are really only spraying fancy water on your face. Your face just ends up feeling more parched.

So getting back to story… So I was perusing the aisles of Sephora, experimenting with raspberry glosses and peachy pink blushes, when I reminded myself… G!!! You are here for one thing and one thing only! A spray to keep you cool and refreshed in Brazil! I wandered over to the Caudalie gondola. Caudalie makes the most refreshing serum (Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum) that I have written a post about. Check it out! I did a quick glance of the gondola and noticed the word elixir. Elixir!!! Fabulous! I immediately ran over to one of the skincare specialists and asked them what this Caudalie elixir was all about. The Caudlalie Beauty Elixir is a spray that moisturizes! Apparently it was inspired by the "elixir of youth" used by Queen Isabella of Hungary! How enticing! The elixir is half toner, half serum and is filled with essential oils and ingredients from rare plants. It contains delicious ingredients such as:
  • Caudalie's patented grape extracts

  • Vitamins A, B, and C

  • Extracts of Myrrh

  • Orange and Rose Flower

  • Essential oils of Rosemary and Mint

I like to spray it on my face before applying my moisturizer or sunblock. It is also great for setting your makeup! It has such a beautiful cooling and moisturizing effect. Your face will feel so hydrated. I sprayed it on my face after landing in Brazil. It was a perfect pick-me-up! You can seriously use it whenever! I will make sure I always have a bottle of this elixir handy!

The 1oz bottle retails for around $15 and the 3.8oz bottle retails for around $49. Sephora currently has a promotional package that contains three 1oz bottles for $30. This is a perfect gift for a friend who is about to travel or go on their honeymoon.

Elixir to the rescue!

Hugs,
G
