Disappointment: Garnier Eye Anti Puff Eye Roller

OMG- I saw it and had to have it! Garnier Nutritioniste's Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller had the most promising intentions: This apple green pen with a cold silver ball at the end would allow you just swipe on precious anti-eye puffing magical formula and VOILA: It would change the way you looked and felt in the morning. I think I even went to 3 different stores to find it. (Disclaimer: I knew this wasn't going to be a miracle product, but it should do SOME of the things it claims!)

Well it was a BIG FAT waste of money. First of all, I think the main ingredient in it is caffeine: Makes sense, it constricts your vessels and stuff. But I don't want to directly apply caffeine on to my skin because it's just not right. It gets all absorbed into your body and -- just trust me on my instinct it's not good for you. Plus you can't wear it at night if you're sensitive to caffeine.

Secondly, and I have no actual proof, like I didn't do a careful controlled study on this, but I actually think it made my under eye area worse. I can't say exactly how, but I felt like I looked older, the skin under my eyes was more crepe-y.

Thirdly it's $16. That's a lot, I have to say, for what is basically a cold silver ball rolling over your skin depositing caffeine. I stopped using this thing after 2 weeks, and I have been happier since I quit it.

Also, a cold eye mask will have the same effects, TRUST.

No stars.

Disappointed Kisses,

  1. I was very excited when I started seeing commercials for this and of course went to buy it from CVS. I think it's more the placebo effect that I like about it than anything else and I do like rolling on the cold applicator. BUT, the first day I wore it I got a lot of unusual compliments saying how good I looked that day...

Has anyone tried any of Garnier's other face/skin/anti wrinkle products?

  2. I totally agree about the placebo effect of the cold ball, which is why I think a cold eye mask is just as effective. I found that my concealer was not going on as smoothly, even after I let the area dry. But I know, the cold feels good.

  3. OMG! I was so tempted to buy this because of their advertising efforts. So not going to anymore. Thanks for the review!
